Old Town

Old Town, located in the heart of Scottsdale, is a little over a square mile filled with art galleries, unique boutiques and shops, restaurants and bars. You’ll also be close to many business centers for corporate retreats. There truly is something for everyone here, day and night. For an overview of this historic town, take one of the many tours; there are foodie tours, architectural tours, history tours and art tours. No matter what your interests are, there’s bound to be a tour on it! Taking a guided tour can be informational, and it’s a great way to get a quick overview of the town. You can bike, walk, or ride a trolley around from spot to spot. Or try something new like a Segway tour. However you decide to get around, you’ll have to try the Taco Tuesday Food Tour or the Chocolate Tour of Scottsdale!

Gather up your family and wander around. Scottsdale has an amazing public art program, and there are many installations in Old Town. Don’t miss the Soleri Bridge and Plaza connecting Old Town with downtown Scottsdale. Designed by Paolo Soleri, this pedestrian bridge is also a solar calendar and a popular gathering place. Some other pieces you must see: Water to Water, a high-tech water treatment facility merges water art with technology; One-Eyed Jack, a 26-foot-high metal jackrabbit; Copper Falls, a wall fountain featuring various sized copper half-domes that jangle as the water cascades over them; and Cactus Mirage, a passive kinetic wall that comes alive with each passing breeze. And of course, you’ll have to take a selfie at Robert Indiana’s famous LOVE sculpture!

There’s always something going on in Old Town too, from weekly Thursday night Art Walks and ongoing Wine Trails to the Canal Convergence in November, Scottsdazzle festival in December and Western Week in February. Give our staff a call to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Our Old Town luxury rentals will allow you to enjoy all the fun of Old Town without the hassle of driving and parking. Everyone can party as they please, no designated drivers needed. Your group can walk from your rental to Old Town, Scottsdale Stadium, grocery stores, and of course a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Select a rental right in the heart of lively Old Town, or a slightly quieter rental on the edges. Or check out our condos in Old Town Scottsdale if your party is small. It’s the perfect way to enjoy your vacation in Old Town.

Art Lovers Paradise

An internationally renowned art destination, Old Town is overflowing with galleries. No matter what type of art you are looking for – contemporary, western-themed, Native American, fine art or fun, tacky souvenirs – there is a gallery in Old Town filled with pieces you’ll want to take home with you. There are galleries featuring jewelry, photography, sculptures of glass, ceramic, wood, and more, watercolor, acrylic and oils, mixed media, and so much more. Don’t collect fine art? There’s a gallery offering whatever you do collect – everything from rare coins or books, vintage furniture, antique perfume bottles, and vintage Barbies to Mexican and Native American traditional pottery and baskets and ancient Kachinas. Don’t miss the Buffalo Collection, which is full of handcrafted buffalo leather items that you didn’t know you needed.

This is the place to add to your existing collection or to start a new one. Every art lover and connoisseur will want to spend their vacation wandering from gallery to gallery. You can work up an appetite going from gallery to gallery every Thursday night with the Art Walk. Get your fill of art, then head out for dinner and a little nightlife.

Since you’re in Old Town, and you like the old west, you have to make a trip to the Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. With both Western and Native American art and exhibits, you’ll see cowboy gear, Hopi People pottery and many other exciting exhibits. After your fill of old western exhibits, explore contemporary and modern art, architecture and design exhibits at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. It’s worth the trip just to experience the James Terrell Skyspace in the outdoor courtyard. Both are small museums, but each is worth the trip.

Food, Drink & Fun

Old Town is also known for its fine dining establishments and its nightlife. The variety of cuisine in this tiny town is amazing – fine dining or casual, sushi or steak, farm-to-table, it’s all here. A few suggestions for you to try are Café Forte, Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse, a modern, elegant steakhouse, Prado at Omni Montelucia Resort, a popular spot with amazing mountain views, and Talavera, which features amazing views. Two more spots to try: Rako Akor, upscale sushi and steakhouse; and Franco’s Italian Café, which boasts authentic Italian cuisine. For more suggestions, give our knowledgeable staff a call.

And the nightlife offers just about anything you’re feeling like. Comedy club, brewpub, sophisticated wine bar, rock-n-roll, western…well you get the picture. The hard part will be deciding where to go first!
