Want to dance ‘til dawn? You can choose from live bands or DJs, western, rock-n-roll, oldies or jazz. There really is something for everyone in Old Town. The hard part will be deciding where to start things off. Parsons Villas has rentals adjacent to and right in the heart of Old Town, making it easy to enjoy the party, wherever you end up. And the “Nightmare on Princess Drive” at the Scottsdale Princess Resort’s Plaza Bar is fun for adults with a DJ, lots of specialty drinks, and a costume contest. So, bring your scariest (or sexiest) costume and join in the fun. And if you need a last-minute costume, or if you left your costume at home, don’t worry. Just head over to Old Town early and browse through the many unique boutiques and shops to find everything you’ll need for that perfect costume.
Family Fun During Halloween in Arizona
If you’ve got the family with you, don’t worry, there are kid-friendly activities too. A local favorite is the McDonald’s Ranch pumpkin patch event. This annual event features a petting zoo (miniature ponies, pigs, goats and more), Pan for Gold at the Gem Mine, train rides, a Hay Maze and old timey games. Hayrides, pony rides and bouncy houses are available (at additional fees). You can also enjoy the pumpkin patch! Visit their website for hours and ticket info.
Pack up the kids and head to the Haunted Graveyard Arizona on East Valley Vista Drive. With over 35 years of haunting the neighborhood under their belt, this kid-friendly home haunt is creepy and loads of fun for all ages. This spooky graveyard is free, but donations are welcome!
After fun at the ranch or graveyard, stock up on candy for the kids and head back to your villa for movie night. We have rentals that feature TV rooms; the entire family can watch their favorite scary movies while scarfing down all that Halloween candy. And since practically every room in your villa will be equipped with a large flat screen TV, you can have several movie marathons going at once. In fact, your entire group could just stay home in your lovely villa and have your own Halloween celebration. Our spatial villas offer plenty of room for a family Halloween bash! Rent one of our villas with a sumptuous gourmet kitchen, and you’ll enjoy making scary good holiday themed treats as much as your family will enjoy eating them. Get creative and whip up some cookie pops or Rice Krispy treats decorated like mummies, ghosts, black cats and vampires. And those cupcakes with the brain icing will be the hit of the party! Break out the red food dye and gummy worms and go crazy!
Or, since the fall weather is so nice, make sure your rental has a fireplace or a fire pit. Set up the pumpkin carving table and mask decorating table out by the fire and let the creativity begin. Gather the kids around, grab fixings for s’mores and scare them silly with horror stories. Read a few Stephen King short stories aloud, or have everyone make up their own story. Picture your entire family sitting around the fire in the crisp, cool fall air, surrounded by mountains and flickering whacky jack-o-lanterns and stuffed with s’mores. Is there a better way to celebrate this spooky holiday? It’ll be a great new family tradition!
