Roka Akor in Scottsdale

Roka Akor in Scottsdale

October 3, 2019

Established in 2008, Roka Akor in Scottsdale is an upscale, fine dining establishment. Perfect for an anniversary, celebration dinner or just a special night out, Roka Akor in Scottsdale offers authentic “Robatayaki style” cooking – and the traditional wide, flat fireplace is open to the dining area. In fact, you can sit in the dining area, around the bar or around the grill while you watch the chefs in action.

This is contemporary fine dining at its best, whether you are in the mood for steak, seafood or sushi. The interior’s bright dining chairs provide punches of color throughout the space. The dining area is spacious, and the wood wall and ceiling treatments lend a modern Japanese touch.

The Dinner Menu

For the ultimate Japanese food in Scottsdale experience, try the Omakase, or Trust the Chef. A great way to try several menu options, this tasting menu is designed for sharing. You can choose from a handful of tempura selections or maki rolls, including their signature Softshell Crab Roll.

Cold plate options include Yellowtail Sashimi, Wagyu Beef Tartare, or Seasonal Oyster on the Half Shell. Hot plate offerings include Steamed Edamame, kimchi dumplings, Pork Belly or Crispy Fried Squid. Yellowtail, flame seared salmon or scallops are just a few of the Modern Nigiri choices. And Premium Sashimi & Nigiri options include several tuna options, salmon, yellowtail and amberjack. Or try the Roka Akor in Scottsdale signature deluxe platter for the chef’s selection of seasonal seafood and shellfish.

And if you came for the steak, you won’t be disappointed with any one of the Domestic Wagyu and Japanese Wagyu steak selections. Or try a “Classic” choice: Glazed Pork Ribs or Lamb Cutlets. Seafood choices include Chilean Sea Bass, Alaskan King Crab and their signature Yuzu Miso Marinated Black Cod.

The Bar

The Roka Bar serves wine, sake, Japanese craft and local beers, limited edition whiskey and specialty cocktails. If you are looking for something different, try their shochu – a Japanese distilled beverage. Happy Hour is daily from 4:30pm to 7pm, and the Roka Bar hours are the same as dinner hours, except the fun starts a little earlier.
