Talavera

Talavera

October 31, 2019

It only takes a few words to describe Talavera – amazing views and amazing food! The view of the surrounding mountains would be worth the trip even if the food wasn’t, but with Talavera you get both! Amazing views and amazing food. Can’t say it enough.

The View from Talavera

This upscale casual restaurant has a modern, yet old world feel. The décor in the main dining area is full of warm wood tones, and the warm browns, grays and punches of red provide a subtle background so you can concentrate on the food and the view.

The exterior wall is all glass and overlooks the covered patio with the mountains beyond. A linear fire pit runs along the outside of the glass wall for fun and warmth during chilly nights. Private indoor dining areas are available, complete with wrought iron accents and a heavier Spanish villa vibe. If the weather is nice (and it almost always is!), dine al fresco out on the patio under the rustic pergola. Watch the glorious desert sunset while enjoying your delicious meal.

Keeping with the Latin theme, they have musicians playing Flamenco guitar on Thursday nights. The Talavera restaurant is a great spot for a special night out, date night or for celebrating anything.

The Food

Talavera specializes in traditional Spanish cuisine, using local produce and ingredients when available. Appetizers are light and unusual. Choices include Chiles Toreados, Marcona Almonds and House-pickled Vegetables. Spiced Lamb Meatballs, prawns and grilled octopus are the Tapas options. Crudo options are Lobster Tostadas, Ahi Tuna, Steak Tartare and Grilled Oysters.

There are four paella selections (with a vegetarian option) for paella lovers. Dinner entrees include three steak cuts, a Pan Seared Barramundi, and Braised Mole Pork Shank. And, there are several choices of charcuteria, queso and sides to round out your plate.
