Prado at Omni Montelucia Resort

October 31, 2019

For fine resort dining, try the Prado at the Omni Montelucia Resort in Scottsdale. This upscale restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is a popular spot not just for the resort’s guests, but area locals.

Mediterranean Ambience

The studded heavy wood gates at the courtyard entry and the blue-tiled fountains lay the groundwork for the Spanish Mediterranean ambience. The interiors dark wood tones and a warm neutral color palette with touches of wrought iron continue the theme. Arches connect short thick columns perched on partial height walls dividing the dining room into smaller spaces.

The Camelback Mountains can be seen through the dining room windows as you enjoy your meal. Get closer to the mountains and dine on the patio, where fountains provide a gentle background noise. Or, sit at the tapas bar and watch your tapas being prepared on the wood-fired grille.

Mediterranean Menu

The breakfast menu at the Prado restaurant offers the usual bagel, fruit and oatmeal, eggs & omelets, French toast and pancakes options. Breakfast specialties include the ubiquitous Avocado Toast and Eggs Benedict, and Huevos Rancheros (a staff pick).

For lunch, hot appetizers include calamari, Spanish Onion Soup, Seafood Paella Arancini and Medjool Dates. Cold appetizers and salad offerings include hummus, a Caprese salad, a kale salad, roasted beet salad and a Gazpacho Salad. For smaller appetites, there are sandwiches, flatbreads and burgers, including a French dip. Entrees are a little more adventurous, offering Seafood Paella, Hand-rolled Gnocchi and Pan-seared Salmon.

The dinner menu starts with the basics from the lunch starters and ands add a few more interesting options like Lollipop Lamb Chops, Baked Triple Cream Brie and Zarzuela de Mariscos. The listing of Paella, Pasta, Seafood and Steaks is varied. It’s all there, from Crispy Skin Ora King Salmon to Seafood Tagliatelle, three types of paella, lamb shanks and filet mignon.

Chorizo Sausage Pinchos, Langostino Ceviche, and Grilled Octopus with Garbanzos are a few of the options from the Tapas Menu. You can also build your own board, selecting from a short list of cheese and meats.

Save room for dessert. You have to try the Phyllo Wrapped Warm Chocolate Torte and the Prado Bread Pudding. There’s a separate menu for their selection of cigars too. Are you up for trying an Irish Crème & White Chocolate cigar?
