As temperatures cool across the Valley, it’s time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors! There’s no better way to experience all Scottsdale has to offer than by exploring the area’s many fall festivals. Whether you’re a foodie, an art (and crafts) enthusiast, love listening to live music or all of the above, you’ll find an autumn event that appeals in and around Scottsdale this fall.
Scottsdale International Film Festival
Take in more than 50 films from around the world at the annual Scottsdale International Film Festival. With four days of screenings, you can pick and choose from animated shorts, documentaries and full-length features. The festival runs for four days, from November 5 to 9.
Fountain Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts
Just up the road in Fountain Hills, the annual Fountain Festival of Fine Arts and Craft offers something for everyone. More than 500 artists from around the world converge around the downtown fountain to display their handiwork, from painting to sculpture, jewelry to clothing. In the backdrop, one of the world’s tallest freshwater fountains will keep you company as you browse the festival’s many offerings. The festival is free and runs from November 10 to 12.
ArtFest of Scottsdale
With works from more than 150 local and national’s artists, ArtFest of Scottsdale is a true don’t-miss. Explore the displays in Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza, where you’ll find authors, musicians, food, activities for kids and (of course) artists and artisans of all stripes. This two-day festival is the perfect place to get a jump on your holiday shopping, too! ArtFest runs November 18 and 19 and offers free admission and parking.
Las Noches de las Luminarias
Spend a magical evening in the garden wandering along winding pathways lit by the glow of delicate lanterns at Las Noches de las Luminarias. Each fall, this event at the Desert Botanical Garden transforms the already beautiful Sonoran Desert landscape into an otherworldly experience. Enjoy local musicians and sip on a mug of hot cider as you stroll through the cacti. The festival runs from November 17 to December 31; parking is free and Desert Botanical Garden members receive a discount on admission tickets.
