Vacationing to Scottsdale, Arizona during the early part of 2020 is the best way to escape the cold winter back home. Scottsdale will be just crisp enough for you to enjoy day after day outdoors. The early 2020 season will also bring some exciting Scottsdale events that can only be found here. Take a look at these events you can enjoy in Scottsdale early in the year:

Waste Management Phoenix Open

Perhaps the biggest event of the entire year, not just the winter season, is the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The biggest names in golf make their way to the Waste Management Phoenix Open every year. Expect an incredible tournament where hundreds of thousands of guests watch from special viewing areas. What makes this tournament so special is the Scottsdale flair, where adult beverages and fashion are highly encouraged. Some might say the Waste Management Phoenix Open is a party on the green. While this event is all ages, it is best as a group outing with adult friends.

2020 Scottsdale Chorus Annual Top Golf Fundraising Event

One of the biggest attractions in Scottsdale can be found at Top Golf. If you have never practiced your swing at Top Golf, you are missing out. This venue offers a driving range with a full-service bar, restaurant, giant TVs, and game rooms. Top Golf will be hosting a fundraising event for the Scottsdale Chorus on February 16th from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Take a few swings at the range while you enjoy food and the company of friends and family. Prizes will also be given out all throughout the evening!

Spring Training

One of the biggest draws to Scottsdale during the late winter and early spring seasons is spring training. This is when the Major League Baseball teams come out to the warm weather and play in practice games to get ready for the long season ahead. Scottsdale Stadium hosts the San Francisco Giants every year for some exciting matchups. Spring training will start this year on February 28th with a matchup against the Colorado Rockies. The game starts at 7:05 PM for several hours of baseball fun.

There are some things in life that are guaranteed. Like death and taxes, there will always be more sunny days than gloomy ones in Scottsdale, little girls (and some little boys) will begin a love affair with horses that may never end, and little boys (and some little girls) will dream of owning their own majestic stallion as they grow up to be rugged cowboys. For those of you, male or female, who have never given up your childhood dreams, spending your next February in Scottsdale promises to be a dream come true! The Arabian Horse Show comes to town the weekend of February 14 through 24, bringing the best stallions, mares, and ponies of all genders to West World for your enjoyment and entertainment!

Pleasing Horse Lovers at the Arabian Horse Show Since 1955

The Wild West lives on in this traditional show that has been a staple in the valley since 1955. Featuring educational expos, photo contests, and riding competitions for all ages and styles, the Arabian Horse Show has held our hearts since our parents first introduced it to us, and now we are continuing the love as we continue the tradition with our own children and grandchildren. The humble early days, however, are long gone; the first show featured just 50 of the best Arabians in the nation, and those numbers have grown to over 2000 today! And as the show has grown, so have their goals. Proceeds benefit a variety of equine charities and the March of Dimes, and scholarships are often given as prizes to the younger competitors. Prize money ranges from $105 all the way up to over $25,000, with over a million dollars in cash and prizes being given away—including 6 $1000 scholarships from the Friends of Vail Association. This show is a big deal and the prestige of winning can mean even bigger money for breeders of the stately steeds! Ticket prices start at $7 a day (kids 12 and under are free!) and top out at $250 for box seats for the entire show. Even those traveling on a tight budget will find the Arabian Horse Show doesn’t make their wallets groan!
