Desert views and beautiful sunsets. That’s all you need to know about Troon Ranch. The casita is one of three units in this secluded desert cabin in Phoenix.
A wall of windows and sliding glass doors overlooks the desert with its towering saguaro cacti, and the pool with its stone and boulder edge. The covered porch shades the interior of the casita while providing comfortable viewing of those lovely desert views.
The living area has exposed wood beams, high cedar plank ceiling, walls and wainscot. The cedar scent gives the entire casita a woody, rustic smell. French doors with full side lites lead out onto the porch for easy access to the pool and desert beyond. The focus of the living area is the curved, adobe-style wood burning fireplace. Comfy leather sofas and chairs are perfect for watching the fire and relaxing after a long day of hiking and desert activities.
The rustic exposed wood beams, high cedar plank ceiling and walls continue into the bedroom where the old-world style queen bed and mission style chairs add the perfect touches to the room. Double French doors lead out to the porch and let in plenty of that wonderful desert sunlight.
Open to the living area, the rustic styled kitchen (with cute saloon door) is fully equipped and comes with a Keurig and tea kettle for your choice of hot beverages. The soft red tile counter tops add a subtle bit of color. The small dining table offers a place for a quick meal if you don’t want to eat outdoors. The bathroom has the same soft reddish tiles on the vanity and darker tiles in the shower and at the tub surround. The glass block wall over the tub lets in plenty of soft diffused light. The kitchen and bath definitely have that fun, camp cabin feeling.
The deep covered porch of this cabin in Phoenix, with exposed wood framing and overstuffed cushioned chairs are perfect for morning coffee, late night cocktails or cocoa when the nights turn cool. The porch overlooks the beautifully landscaped pool area and the Mediterranean style fountain. The adjacent built-in grilling station makes cooking out a breeze. And don’t forget the putting green – that saguaro cactus makes an impressive obstacle.
And while it may feel like you’re miles from nowhere, gateway trailheads to the McDowell Mountain Sonoran Preserve are less than a mile away. And you’re only a mile in each direction from the main Scottsdale access roads literally making this gorgeous desert rental minutes from the best restaurants, shopping, hiking, horseback riding, golf and entertainment. The Troon Ranch Casita is the best of both worlds – secluded desert cabin close to the fun of Scottsdale. You’ll want to stay forever.
