TPC Scottsdale is home to one of the most famous opens in all of Golf, the fan favorite Waste Management Phoenix Open! Held at the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale, this fun filled tournament becomes a party worth traveling for, as well as a golf fan’s dream competition.

Golf at TPC Scottsdale, Home of the Waste Management Open

Whether you’re a big golf lover or simply are in town for the party, visiting TPC Scottsdale for the Waste Management Open is truly a memorable experience that you simply cannot pass up on! But, while the Waste Management Open is obviously one of the best reasons to visit TPC Scottsdale, it’s not the only reason! Spectator events aside, TPC offers year-round golf at both its world class courses – the Stadium Course and the Champions Course – giving you the opportunity to test your skills, and have a great weekend of golf to boot!

Amazing Golf At the Stadium Course and Champions Course

Rivalling the Stadium Course in both beauty and playability, The Champions Course at TPC Scottsdale is a Randy Heckenkemper Designed course offering an unmatched desert golf experience. Flowing through natural ravines, over picturesque hills, and backed up by Arizona’s trademark desert landscapes, this beautiful course is almost as beautiful as it is fun to play! It is a balanced course, so as not to favor just one style of play, and it provides golfers of all skill levels a fun challenge that changes with every play through!

Of course, the real draw at TPC is the famous Stadium Course which, when not playing host to the PGA’s most famous party weekend, is open year-round to the public. This way, you can golf like the pros too! Fortunately for you, this course is maintained at PGA Tour quality standards, so you can enjoy the same pristine fairways that your favorite pros get – without the screaming audience, of course!

Golf at the Amazing Grayhawk Golf Club

Do you dream of gently rolling greens, gorgeous mountainous backdrops, and picturesque desert scenery – dotted with cacti, Palo Verde trees, and gorgeous water hazards? If so, our favorite golf course – the Grayhawk Golf Club – may be just what the doctor ordered. With two gorgeous and professionally designed courses, this centrally located golf club provides challenging but enjoyable golf to even the most skilled golfers. It is also within easy driving distance of all that makes North Scottsdale great including some of its top attractions, such as Tom’s Thumb Trail, the Penske Racing Museum, Macdonald’s Ranch, and even some other great Golf Clubs – for all you golf tourists out there!

Two Golf Courses, Two Different Experiences

One of the many facets that make Grayhawk Golf Club a must-play are its two professional courses, the Talon and Raptor courses. Though situated in the same area, both offer different experiences – and both are more than worth a round or two! The Talon course was designed by former US Open and PGA Champion David Graham, and is truly a course for the ages. As one of the highest rated golf courses in Arizona – an accomplishment accompanied by its placement on Golf Magazine’s “Top 100” list – the Talon Golf course provides fantastic views of the Mcdowell mountains, and some devilishly designed holes that many believe unmatched in Arizona. With a back 9 designed around a series of deep box canyons, and many holes punctuated by steep drop offs and thick brush, this course is much more difficult than it may first appear!

As for the Raptor, this Tom Fazio Designed course also offers thrilling challenges to all. A Par 72, 7090 yard course, the Raptor splays out over gentle hills, shaded washes, deep bunkers, and grass collection areas. Like its sister course, it too is considered one of the best public golf courses in Arizona by Golf Magazine, and has hosted many professional golf events!

McCormick Ranch Golf Club

One of Scottsdale’s more affordable public courses, McCormick Ranch caters to golfers (and budgets) of all levels! With tee times as cheap as $35.00, budget conscious travelers have no reason to fear – and those looking for a fantastic deal are in the perfect place. Of course, McCormick Ranch isn’t just a cheap course to golf; with beautiful mountain vistas, 36 holes, and Hole 19, one of the Top 18 Water Holes of America according to Golf Illustrated, this course packs a punch not reflected in its cheap price tag!

Two Beautiful Courses, Two Ways To Play

McCormick Ranch is home to two amazing 18 hole golf courses, the Palm Course and the Pine Course. Both provide vastly different experiences, and both are more than worth the price of admission! The Palm Course – a true oasis in the dessert – is home to our signature hole number 9, and has been a destination on the Canadian Tour (while previously hosting the Scottsdale Swing). Designed in 1972 by Desmond Muirhead, it’s a deceivingly difficult course, with water coming into play on 10 of its 18 holes. Its wide open and rolling greens open it up to a variety of play styles, and allows golf connoisseurs to strategize to their heart’s content!

The Pine Course, on the other hand, is a professional level course continually selected by the PGA to host the regional qualifier for the Waste Management Open. Requiring finely tuned accuracy to hit the corridor fairways, it too is a devilishly difficult course that even the top weekend warrior golfers may find difficulty navigating. Not to be left out in the “signature hole” department, The Pine Course’s coveted hole is number 15, which you’ll hear no shortage of tips from local players on how to play it! This course was also designed by Desmond Muirhead, and truly lives up to its nickname: “the Fine Pine”
