Paradise Valley is bordered by the Phoenix Mountains, and two of the highest peaks in the range can be seen from this lovely suburb – local landmark Camelback Mountain to the south and Piestewa Peak to the west. And of course, this valley community is partially built on Mummy Mountain (another local landmark with its Sphinx outline). With both Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak so close, you’ll want to take advantage of the many hiking trails along these peaks and the surrounding mountain and desert terrain. Climbing Camelback Mountain is one of those things you simply have to do when visiting the area.

There are too many individual galleries and shops to name, but if you need more options, don’t forget that Old Town is just a few minutes away from our Paradise Valley rentals.
After all that hiking, golfing, and shopping, you’ll need a little pampering. Well, Paradise Valley is home to eight full-service resorts and spas! Art, Architecture & History
If you’re a fan of Soleri windbells, then a visit to Cosanti is a must. This five-acre site in Paradise Valley, settled by Paolo Soleri, is a one-of-a-kind architectural complex showcasing many of Soleri’s innovations. And you can visit the foundry where the world-famous windbells are made.
Less than ten miles away are two more sites you’ll want to visit: Taliesin West and the Pueblo Grande Museum. Taliesin West offers a glimpse into the mind of another innovative architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright’s winter home and school from 1937 until his death, the complex still operates as an architectural school today. The Pueblo Grande Museum is located on an ancient Hohokam archaeological site in Phoenix. A National Historic Landmark, a short trail takes visitors through the prehistoric archaeological village site. Besides the dig itself, the complex has galleries, a gift shop, workshops, lectures and more.
History buffs will want to take a few minutes to visit the Barry Goldwater Memorial Park. A cactus garden and an over-sized statue are the main attractions of this small park. The Goldwater Crypt is nearby, in the Memorial Garden of the Christ Church of the Ascension. And Goldwater’s extensive Kachina doll collection is in the nearby Heard Museum in Phoenix, one of many interesting exhibits there.
There are other historic sites in Paradise Valley too: Barry Goldwater’s house on Scorpion Hill, two Frank Lloyd Wright houses (the Harold C Price Sr House and the Norman Lykes House), the Paradise Valley Methodist Church, Bill Keane’s house (creator of The Family Circus comic) and the McCure Mansion/Hormel Mansion, which, at 52,000 square feet, is one of the largest privately owned homes in the country.
