Have you ever thought about biking through the desert, but weren’t sure if you have the biking skills for desert riding? Well, if you have basic bike riding skills (even if they’re rusty), you can take a Scottsdale bike tour on an e-bike through the desert. With an e-bike, you have a flexible ride; you can ride under your own power or get a little boost from the bike motor when you need it.

There is a motor that helps the wheels turn when you’re riding, but you don’t have to worry about a throttle like on a motorcycle; you get that helpful boost only when you want it. On your 2-hour Scenic Sonoran Stroll, your group will be able to take their time riding through the desert – some off-roading, some on well-maintained trails – twisting between the towering Saguaro cactus, prickly pears, boulders and everything else the desert puts in your path. Learn about the Sonoran Desert’s edible and medicinal plants, geology and history, native plants and animals from your guide while gently riding along. This slower paced bike experience will give you a better chance of finding those cool animal trails and enjoying the amazing desert landscape while you bike. And each Scottsdale bike tour is private, so your group will be able to travel at their own speed, stopping for birdwatching and scenic breaks as they want.
Tour the Desert in Style with Journey Rides Scottsdale
Your e-bike tour will depart from the Journey Rides Scottsdale office in Carefree, Arizona at 99 Easy Street, Suite 201, just a little over 20 miles from Scottsdale. Once you reach your desert starting point but before you start on the actual tour, your guide will give you a short e-bike orientation to familiarize everyone with the vehicles. Your guide will also provide bottled water and snacks on your tour.
Tours are offered seven days a week, from 8am to 6pm, depending on the weather of course.
