Welcome to The Mesa Arts Center
One of the cultural landmarks of Mesa, Arizona is the Mesa Arts Center. Built in 2005 at the cost of $95 million, this 210,000-square-foot performing and visual arts complex is the largest cultural facility in the state of Arizona. With four theaters, five art galleries in the MCA Museum, and 14 art studios, the center hosts award-winning shows all year round. Whether your goal is to be entertained, study and learn, or engage in arts, you’ll have ample opportunity to indulge your senses and artistic inclinations in the immersive, diverse, and accessible experiences in the center. So get ready to be inspired, engaged, and above all, entertained.
Art Classes
One of the main activities that visitors can enjoy are the art classes that the Center offers. There are 14 art programs in all covering various types of artistic expression. You can learn just about any form of art you ever fancied. Take as many as you like of the 1000 classes and more given every year under these programs. From ceramics to painting, printmaking, jewelry, sculpture, photography, glass, dance, drama, acting, multimedia, music, and many more. These comprehensive programs offer you to resurrect the artist in you. Relieve your artistic fantasies and explore that side of you that you forgot was still there, all under one roof.
Engaging Arts
As part of the Mesa Arts Center’s mission to make art accessible to people of all ages and all walks of life, the Engagement Programs were established to offer unique art experiences. Regardless of your background, you will not only get to appreciate the various forms of artistic expression but also improve your own practical skills. Students from kindergarten all the way to high school can benefit from music and drama to improve their learning and cognitive skills. Adults who go through stressful times such as veterans and service members would use art and
printmaking to relieve some of that stress. And for older people, they use different forms of dancing to enhance their social connections with people of the same age. By using art to improve the quality of people’s lives, the Center is helping create a stronger bond between visual arts and the people in the community.
